Artist Connie Greyhorse Simpson takes on the Blood & Honey Icon for broken broom with a triple aspect in this painting. A South Slavic metaphor of a broken broom symbolizes the slaughter of whole tracts of trees and defines the end of harmony between males and females into raw violence.
How is it that Slavic language once filled with female kinship terms for females’ sides of the family are not social center now except to convey women as refugees and victims?
