It is said about ancient migrations out of Africa encountered excruitating events on their pilgrimage. Soon the events that took place became known as the "Gate of Tears" located in Africa so as to forge intergenerational memory of ages old migratory paths. The "Iron Gate" is known to be in the former Yugoslav region.

Diaspora for the Bosnians has flung their children and family members across the face of the earth.

South Slavs have an ancient custom regarding travelers- they are welcomed warmly, fed and embraced into their kinship. The tradition of welcoming guests on thier migrations or pilgrimages is ages old, if not millennia aged, is not forgotten by this grandmother who beckons me to come in for a cup of coffee.
